Exegesis of Colossians-ii-13-17

And although you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he quickened [you] together with himself, forgiving us all the trespasses, blotting out the handwriting with the decrees which was against us, which was an adversary to us, and he removed it from the midst, nailing it to the cross. Having spoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them on it. Therefore, do not let any man judge you in eating or in drinking, or in part of a feast, New Moon, or Sabbath (which are a shadow of the coming things), but the body of Christ.
(Colossians 2:13-17)

This is the best discussion of Colossians 2:13-17 I’ve seen.  There are so many poor understandings of these verses that add, take away, or replace words. Please take a prayerful read of the attachment with a humble heart that loves His truth over all, and may our Father richly bless you with understanding and wisdom.

Hey, and welcome to the site.

The articles I’ve posted here are sort of a “best of” compilation, and come from a variety of sources.

My favorite site would probably be http://followtherabbi.com/ and the teachings of Ray VanderLaan. He gives amazing insight into the culture of 1st century Israel, which bring invaluable context for understanding the Bible.

If you want more doctrinal study, http://passionfortruth.com/ is a pretty good resource for exploring the topics surrounding certain beliefs.

Lastly, if there are specific verses you want to study and pray over, http://www.blueletterbible.org/ can be helpful for digging into them and looking at the Greek meanings of words.

God is the source of wisdom, so I always recommend prayer.
